I changed the water in this work from a flat Mediterranean sea-blue to a glossy red one day after I heard a terrible news story on NPR. I can’t remember the location, but I believe it was in Israel. A bomb went off at a market place injuring about 20 people. The injured were taken to two area hospitals and emergency crews rushed to the ambulance––at which point two additional bombs were set off. I had to sit down.
