RIVER ROOM, 2013
River Room is a site specific installation created for Laumeier Sculpture Park's exhibition The River Between Us. This exhibition was a collaboration between Laumeier and Longvue House and Garden, a historic home in New Orleans. Since Laumeier is a home built in 1917 that was converted into a white box gallery space and Longvue is an historic home (complete with furniture, art and other material culture from the early 1900s). I decided to pull a switch--I created a "period room" at Laumeier and will integrate one-of-a-kind objects into the Longvue collection.
Hand painted wall pattern, framed River Charts altered with acrylic and ink, dining table and chairs, place settings, shrink wrap, oriental rug with protective covering
