The small town I live in (1100 people) in deep Southern Illinois used to be a flower growing center and would ship thousands of flowers to Chicago every spring. Our farmers can no longer make a living that way but the town is riff with flowers every spring--especially daffodils. Thousands of them invade the field behind my old farmhouse turning it bright yellow every spring.
